After this he trained as a research fellow in Gastroenterology in Manchester University.

Since 1991 he is in Gastroenterology practice in the city of Ahmedabad and attached to various renowned hospitals as a condsultant Gastroenterologist. He has keen interest in Liver diseases and is a pioneer in the field of neonatal and pediatrioc liver disease in the state of Gujarat.
